Mansbridge Balment Plymouth will be fielding its biggest team yet in this year’s 10k road race in Plymouth.
A keen supporter of the annual event, a total of 10 competitors will make up the agency’s team at the 2017 run, which is being held on Sunday 4th October.
Experienced runner Chris Mervyn, Branch and Marketing Manager at the Plymouth City Office, will be leading the line as colleagues step up to compete in the events Corporate Challenge. Whilst the company has previously raised thousands of pounds for local charities, this years event is purely a chance to get fit and represent the company in the prestige running event.
Joining Chris at the start line from the company will be Managing Director Darren Lawson, Plymouth City Office Director Ben Dreher and colleagues, Tony Carlton, Tess Denley, Natalia Rozario, Karen Sheather, Kristabel Cooper and Katrina Whitley.
“Year on year there is growing interest among our employees, not just in taking part in the 10K, but in improving their general fitness levels too,” said Chris.
“I am delighted that Mansbridge Balment Plymouth will have its biggest presence to date in an event with which we have always had a strong connection.”
Mansbridge Balment Plymouth has played a key role in both supporting and promoting the 10K run, which this year is expected to attract more than 2,500 entrants.
It was the agency that stepped in to help save the event two years ago with a generous sponsorship package after organisers announced it would have to be cancelled in the face of rising costs.
“The 10k is one of the most important events in the city’s running calendar and thanks to the hard work of many groups, as well as individuals, it is now in great shape,” said Chris.
“The next challenge is to get our runners in great shape too!”
