600 runners took part in this years’ Tavy7 road race organised by Tavistock Athletics Club. Jointly sponsored by Mansbridge Balment and Hansford Bell, the event was another huge success and managed to avoid (just) some of the less clement weather we have been enjoying. The race took place on Plasterdown this Sunday (27th October) and saw the main runners trekking around a 7 mile road course, which is a real test for all taking part.
This year saw a course record time for male winner Philip Wylie, from Cheltenham and County Harriers in an incredible time of just 36 minutes and 23 seconds – amazing! The ladies winner, from Tiverton Harriers, was Serane Stone in an impressive time of 43 minutes and 33 seconds.
There were so many winners on a day when personal determination and grit was on show everywhere. Mansbridge Balment and Hansford Bell are jointly delighted and proud to have sponsored such a prestigious event here in Tavistock. Particular congratulations to everyone at TAC, but particular thanks to race organiser Martin Exley-Deane – nice one Martin.
