Architect-designed four-bedroom detached house with direct moorland access and stunning views of western Dartmoor.

SITUATION AND DESCRIPTION
A genuinely unique detached modern house situated within Dartmoor National Park, adjacent to open moorland and having the most splendid views across the Walkham valley towards the slopes and tors of western Dartmoor. French architect, Michel Boulesteix, who is responsible for a number of unique properties in this area and lived, we understand, in Yelverton, designed the house to incorporate the lie of the land and the amazing views the site has. The gardens include a delightful area of meadow together with further spaces for shrubs and other plants - the overall plot measuring approximately half an acre.

Accessed along a private road, the property is quietly situated away from busy roads and has direct access onto open moorland just opposite the driveway. The nearby village of Horrabridge has facilities including a primary school, garage, church, pubs, bakery, hairdressers, post office/store and a fish and chip shop. Further facilities are to be found at Yelverton and Tavistock (5 miles). The regional centre of Plymouth lies a dozen or so miles to the south.

The present owners have carried out updating and improvement works to the original house which was constructed in the 1990's. These works have included the upgrading of the bathrooms (there are two ensuite, together with a further main bathroom and an additional cloakroom), and the fitting of a new kitchen in 2015 together with ongoing maintenance and replacement when and where required.

The clever design incorporates two bedrooms to the first floor with the remaining accommodation seemingly flowing down to the living space where full length doors open to a terrace and garden beyond. The lounge has a multi-fuel stove, and this is complemented with electric storage heaters throughout the house. The windows are double-glazed.
This fascinating house incorporates comfortable and thoughtful internal design with much consideration given to the views and outside space. We would argue that the lifestyle opportunities afforded here are second to none.
